Tungsten carbide is rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one step below diamond and approximately four times harder than titanium. Gold rates just 2.5. The gold finish is applied using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) — the same coating process used on luxury watches. It bonds colour at a molecular level rather than plating on top, which is why it won’t tarnish, peel, or react with skin. If you’ve had irritation from cheaper metals, tungsten carbide with PVD is hypoallergenic. The colour stays exactly as it arrives.
