Tungsten carbide sits at 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. White gold is 2.5 to 4. That’s not a marginal difference. The white gold PVD finish is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top. It holds its colour without the replating that traditional white gold needs every few years.
