Add a date, initials or message, laser engraved in-house and dispatched the same day. Most engravers add days to delivery. We don't.
Ceramic is incredibly hard and scratch-resistant — it keeps its smooth, polished finish far longer than traditional metals.
Ceramic rings don’t oxidize or lose colour. The finish stays deep, rich, and consistent over time.
Shower, swim, gym, sea — Ceramic doesn't corrode, rust or react. Wear it through everything.
Every ring arrives in a presentation gift box — no extra packaging needed. Ready to give exactly as it arrives.
Brushed black ceramic. Available in 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm. A clean, matte-textured band with a polished interior that catches the light when you move your hand. The Panther is bought as a wedding band, a replacement for a ring that didn’t last, and as a gift for partners who prefer something understated and dark. Three widths means you can match it to your hand and your preference — 4mm for minimal, 6mm for balanced, 8mm for presence.
Ceramic is one of the hardest ring materials available — 8.5 to 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, one step below diamond. The black colour is the material itself, not a coating. It won’t fade, chip, peel, or tarnish. It’s also lightweight — comparable to titanium — so you’ll feel it on your finger without it weighing you down. Hypoallergenic and completely skin-safe. Comfort-fit interior. Engravable. Dispatched today.
What makes this ring worth it?
Walk into a jeweller and you’ll find versions of our rings for 3–4 times the price. The difference isn’t the ring — it’s the overheads. We work directly with the craftspeople who make them and carry the stock ourselves, which is how we can sell a ring that genuinely lasts for a fraction of high street prices.
Traditional gold and silver scratch, bend and lose their shine. That doesn’t happen here. We use a high end process called PVD plating which is the same process used on high end watches to keep your ring looking great.
Why buy from Newman Bands?
We’re based in Horsham and dispatch the same day for orders before 5pm (11am Saturday). That includes engraved rings — we hold stock and engrave on site, which is why we can still get it to you in 1–2 days. Most online ring sellers take 2 weeks or more.
We’ve fulfilled over 100,000 orders since 2019 and hold over 10,000 five-star reviews across Trustpilot and Reviews.io. Any questions before you buy — contact us directly. No chatbots, no outsourced support. We handle it ourselves.
What if it doesn't fit?
Ceramic rings can’t be resized, so we offer free exchanges or refunds on unengraved rings — no questions asked. If you need a different size, you have 100 days to return it free for any reason.
Not sure of your size? Select “I don’t know my ring size” from the dropdown and we’ll send you a free ring sizer first.
THE DETAILS
The black colour on the Panther isn’t plated, dipped, or sprayed on. Ceramic rings are made from zirconium oxide — the black is part of the material at a molecular level. It can’t chip, peel, or fade. Matt from Portsmouth noticed the difference immediately after switching from stainless steel: “The ceramic seems to be less prone to scuffs.”
Ceramic is comparable to titanium in weight — light enough to forget you’re wearing it. The comfort-fit interior is polished smooth, so it slides on and sits without pinching. Connor from Barnsley wears his daily: “Super light weight and comfortable everyday ring.” All three widths — 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm — share the same comfort-fit profile.
The brushed texture gives the Panther a matte, tactile surface that shifts between deep black and a subtle gun-metal tone depending on the light. The polished interior creates a contrast you’ll notice every time you take it off. Matt from Portsmouth described it well: “The brushed black gives a slightly gun metal appearance in certain lights.”
Every Panther arrives in a presentation box. Add a date, name, or message with laser engraving done in-house. All three widths are engravable and dispatched the same day. Dave from Bury St Edmunds summed up the experience: “I was delighted with my new ring, and the whole process was very well done.”

Who This Ring Is For
The Panther is bought as a wedding band, a daily-wear ring, and a gift for partners who want something dark and understated.
Glynn bought it as a replacement wedding band after his previous ring didn’t hold up. Emily from Shaftesbury bought one as a gift. Naz from Brigg loved his so much he came back for a second ring.
. It comes in three widths — 4mm for anyone who wants a slim, minimal band, 6mm for the middle ground, and 8mm for more coverage and presence on the finger.
A brushed black ceramic band with a polished interior. The exterior has a matte, tactile texture that shifts tone in different lighting — deep black in shade, a subtle gun-metal quality in direct light. The polished interior is smooth and glossy, creating a contrast between the inside and outside of the ring that you notice every time you put it on or take it off.
Matt from Portsmouth described what sets it apart from other black rings: “The brushed black gives a slightly gun metal appearance in certain lights. I like that the inside is gloss and feels very comfortable to wear.”
Why Ceramic
Ceramic rings are made from zirconium oxide — the same material used in surgical tools and dental implants. It rates 8.5 to 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, which puts it one step below diamond for scratch resistance. The black colour is the oxide layer itself, not a coating applied on top. It can’t chip, peel, fade, or tarnish. Unlike black-plated tungsten or titanium, the colour is permanent.
Ceramic is also lightweight — comparable to titanium — and completely hypoallergenic. If you’ve had irritation from other metals or coatings, ceramic won’t react with your skin.
Ceramic can’t be resized. If the fit isn’t right, return it free and we’ll exchange it the same day it arrives.
How it Compares
Buyers consistently describe the Panther as better quality than they expected. The finish, the weight, and the permanent black colour give it the presence of a ring from a specialist jeweller. Bethan from Northampton put it directly: “Excellent quality ring for an amazing price.”
A ceramic ring from a high-street jeweller or specialist brand typically costs several times what you’d pay here. The material is the same zirconium oxide. The difference is the markup.
Buying This as a Gift?
The presentation box does the work for you — no wrapping needed. Add a laser engraving and it becomes personal. We engrave in-house and post the same day. If you’re not sure which width they’d prefer, the 6mm is a safe middle ground — but we exchange free if they’d rather switch to 4mm or 8mm.
“I love the look of the ring and the quality is outstanding. So much so that I bought another item. It is that good.”
— Naz Nabee, Brigg

“Very nice ring. Extremely happy. The ceramic seems to be less prone to scuffs like the stainless steel. The brushed black gives a slightly gun metal appearance in certain lights. I like that the inside is gloss and feels very comfortable to wear.”
Matt Daly, Portsmouth
The single biggest advantage of ceramic is that the black is the material itself — zirconium oxide is black all the way through. It will not scratch off, fade, or reveal a silver layer underneath. Matt noticed the difference after wearing stainless steel, and buyers consistently describe the brushed exterior and polished interior as giving the ring a two-tone quality that plain bands lack.
“The stand out thing for me is the level of service. Not only did I receive the ring really quickly but the level of service by Clare and Alan was fantastic.”
Naz Nabee, Brigg
Panther buyers describe a ring that looks and feels more expensive than they expected — Naz was so impressed he came back for another ring. Several buyers are replacing a ring that did not last or adding a second to their collection, and the permanent black colour makes ceramic a practical long-term choice. Every Panther review is five stars.
