The real advantage is weight: titanium is roughly 50% lighter than traditional metals. That makes a noticeable difference on the hand, especially for someone who has never worn a ring before.
The black finish is applied with PVD coating — a vapour deposition process that bonds colour at a molecular level rather than plating it on top. Titanium is also one of the most biocompatible metals known. It’s the same grade used in hip replacements and dental implants — completely hypoallergenic, and it won’t corrode from moisture, sweat, or seawater.
