Your Perfect Ring – Try it at Home
When your ring arrives, try it on, check the fit, and make sure you love it in person. If it's not right for any reason, return it free within 100 days. The only risk is finding one you love.
Engrave Your Ring
Add a date, initials or message, laser engraved in-house and dispatched the same day. Most engravers add days to delivery. We don't.
Tungsten carbide rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — just below diamond. Only a diamond can mark it.
Tungsten don't react with air, water or skin — ever. Our colours outlast precious metal equivalents.
Built for long-term wear — retains its shape and finish even with daily use.
Every ring arrives in a presentation gift box — no extra packaging needed. Ready to give exactly as it arrives.
A black tungsten band at 6mm or 8mm with a natural brown wood inlay running through the centre, the grain pattern unique to each ring. Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest metals used in jewellery: it won’t bend, deform, or tarnish. A men’s wedding ring for the buyer who wanted natural material in the band and chose a ring that changes slightly with every piece of wood used: engravable, dispatched same day.
What makes this ring worth it?
Walk into a jeweller and you’ll find versions of our rings for 3–4 times the price. The difference isn’t the ring — it’s the overheads. We work directly with the craftspeople who make them and carry the stock ourselves, which is how we can sell a ring that genuinely lasts for a fraction of high street prices.
Traditional gold and silver scratch, bend and lose their shine. That doesn’t happen here. We use a high end process called PVD plating which is the same process used on high end watches to keep your ring looking great.
Why buy from Newman Bands?
We’re based in Horsham and dispatch the same day for orders before 5pm (11am Saturday). That includes engraved rings — we hold stock and engrave on site, which is why we can still get it to you in 1–2 days. Most online ring sellers take 2 weeks or more.
We’ve fulfilled over 100,000 orders since 2019 and hold over 10,000 five-star reviews across Trustpilot and Reviews.io. Any questions before you buy — contact us directly. No chatbots, no outsourced support. We handle it ourselves.
What if it doesn't fit?
Tungsten and titanium can’t be resized, so we offer free exchanges or refunds on unengraved rings — no questions asked. If you want a refund or an exchange, you have 100 days to return it free for any reason.
Not sure of your size? Select “I don’t know my ring size” from the dropdown and we’ll send you a free ring sizer first.
THE DETAILS
Brown wood inlay through the centre of the band. The grain pattern is natural and varies between individual rings.
Available at 6mm and 8mm. Both widths give the wood inlay the same level of protection within the tungsten frame.
The wood inlay is set within and protected by the tungsten carbide frame on each side. The hardness of the tungsten base holds the inlay stable through daily wear.
Comfort-fit curve, rounded interior slides on easily, sits flat all day.

Black Tungsten, Natural Wood
The Connoisseur is a black tungsten band built around a central wood inlay. The wood grain pattern is natural, which means no two Connoisseur rings carry an identical inlay. The black tungsten frame sits to each side of the wood, with bevelled edges defining the transition.
The combination of materials is part of what makes this ring specific: the rigidity of the tungsten and the organic character of the wood work together rather than competing. The black surface keeps the ring from looking rustic; the wood keeps it from looking like every other black tungsten band.
If you are buying this because you want something that has a genuine natural element in it, the wood grain is real and the variation from ring to ring is real.
Wood inlays sit within a tungsten carbide frame on the Connoisseur. Tungsten is hard enough to protect the wood from the lateral pressure that would damage the same inlay in a softer metal band. The wood is sealed and set, not exposed.
Tungsten cannot be resized, but Newman Bands offers a free size exchange if the fit is not right first time.
“We bought it to replace my husband’s wedding ring as it couldn’t be resized after some weight loss and honestly we’re thrilled with the quality — it feels just as expensive as the original ring he paid three times the price for.”
Connor — UK buyer
The Connoisseur currently has two reviews and both buyers come back to the same observation: the wood inlay gives the ring far more character than a standard black band. Connor, a UK buyer, replaced his husband’s previous wedding ring after weight loss meant it no longer fit and said the quality felt comparable to a ring that had originally cost three times as much.
Deb, another UK buyer, bought the Connoisseur as an engagement ring and confirmed the natural wood centre makes the ring feel more like a piece of jewellery than a simple metal band. The grain pattern in the wood is slightly different on every ring, which means no two Connoisseur bands look exactly the same.
Across the wider range, buyers who choose wood inlay rings tend to be looking for something with a natural element rather than a purely industrial finish. The tungsten frame protects the wood and keeps the inlay secure, which is why the design holds up to daily wear.
The question buyers usually have with a wood inlay ring is whether the grain will still look good once the ring has been worn for months. The early reviews for the Connoisseur give no indication that it loses its character with regular use.
