Your Perfect Ring – Try it at Home
When your ring arrives, try it on, check the fit, and make sure you love it in person. If it's not right for any reason, return it free within 100 days. The only risk is finding one you love.
Engrave Your Ring
Add a date, initials or message, laser engraved in-house and dispatched the same day. Most engravers add days to delivery. We don't.
Tungsten carbide rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — just below diamond. Only a diamond can mark it.
Tungsten don't react with air, water or skin — ever. Our colours outlast precious metal equivalents.
Built for long-term wear — retains its shape and finish even with daily use.
Every ring arrives in a presentation gift box — no extra packaging needed. Ready to give exactly as it arrives.
A polished silver tungsten band at 6mm or 8mm with a blue groove set into the centre of the surface, running around the full circumference. Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest metals used in jewellery: it won’t bend, deform, or tarnish. A men’s wedding ring that reads as silver in most light and shows the blue detail when you look for it: not a statement ring, a ring with something in it: engravable, dispatched same day.
What makes this ring worth it?
Walk into a jeweller and you’ll find versions of our rings for 3–4 times the price. The difference isn’t the ring — it’s the overheads. We work directly with the craftspeople who make them and carry the stock ourselves, which is how we can sell a ring that genuinely lasts for a fraction of high street prices.
Traditional gold and silver scratch, bend and lose their shine. That doesn’t happen here. We use a high end process called PVD plating which is the same process used on high end watches to keep your ring looking great.
Why buy from Newman Bands?
We’re based in Horsham and dispatch the same day for orders before 5pm (11am Saturday). That includes engraved rings — we hold stock and engrave on site, which is why we can still get it to you in 1–2 days. Most online ring sellers take 2 weeks or more.
We’ve fulfilled over 100,000 orders since 2019 and hold over 10,000 five-star reviews across Trustpilot and Reviews.io. Any questions before you buy — contact us directly. No chatbots, no outsourced support. We handle it ourselves.
What if it doesn't fit?
Tungsten and titanium can’t be resized, so we offer free exchanges or refunds on unengraved rings — no questions asked. If you want a refund or an exchange, you have 100 days to return it free for any reason.
Not sure of your size? Select “I don’t know my ring size” from the dropdown and we’ll send you a free ring sizer first.
THE DETAILS
A polished blue groove runs through the centre of the silver band. The colour is visible directly but does not dominate the ring's profile from a distance.
Available at 6mm and 8mm. The blue groove reads as a finer detail at 6mm and a more defined accent at 8mm.
The blue groove is applied using PVD on a tungsten base. The silver surface is polished tungsten. Both finishes hold their appearance through daily wear.
Comfort-fit curve, rounded interior slides on easily, sits flat all day.

Silver Band, Blue Centre
The Shield is a silver tungsten band with a polished blue groove running through the centre. From a distance it reads as a silver ring. Up close, or in the right light, the blue groove is visible. It is a detail that reveals itself rather than announces itself.
That is the design decision behind this ring: the buyer wanted something more than a plain silver band but did not want a ring that drew attention in the wrong context. The Shield gives you the colour without the volume.
Buyers who choose the Shield tend to be buying for men who were not sure about wearing a ring at all, or who needed something that would work in a professional environment as well as on a wedding day.
The blue groove on the Shield is a PVD finish applied over tungsten carbide. The silver surface is polished tungsten. Both finishes are held by the same base metal, which means the colour difference stays consistent around the full circumference without one finish wearing ahead of the other.
Tungsten cannot be resized, but Newman Bands offers a free size exchange if the fit is not right first time.
“Purchased this as my wedding ring. I don’t wear jewellery normally so I did not want to spend a fortune but still wanted something that looks nice. I was a little worried it wouldn’t look like the pictures. I’m pleased to say this is NOT the case. It looks exactly as pictured, arguably even better.”
Jake, a UK buyer
28 buyers of the Shield return to the same observation: the abalone inlay shifts colour depending on the light, reading blue at one angle and green at another. Jake, a UK buyer, bought it as his wedding ring and had the specific concern that online photos often flatter a ring that disappoints in person. His verdict: it arrived looking exactly as pictured, arguably better.
Andrew, a UK buyer, confirmed the colour shift directly: depending on the light it looks blue, green or a mixture of both. Carolyn, a UK buyer, bought matching Shield rings in two widths for herself and her husband to wear at their 18th anniversary vow renewal, saying the abalone paid tribute to the colour of the ocean. Darren, a UK buyer, is on his second ring from Newman Bands and said the quality is fantastic.
The dominant pre-purchase doubt on a ring with an abalone inlay is whether the colour is as vivid in person as it is in the photographs. The Shield’s 28 reviews answer that directly: it is.
