Why Titanium
Titanium is one of the most biocompatible metals known — the same grade used in surgical implants, hip replacements, and dental work. It’s completely hypoallergenic. If you’ve had a reaction to white gold, nickel, or even platinum alloys, titanium won’t cause irritation. Andrew Wilkinson from Cardiff switched from tungsten after an irritation issue and said the titanium fits great, feels comfortable, and causes no reaction.
It rates 6 on the Mohs hardness scale — harder than gold and platinum, though not as hard as tungsten. It will develop a fine patina of surface marks over time with heavy use, but those can be polished out. What it won’t do: tarnish, corrode, or react with water, sweat, or salt.
