The black PVD coating is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top, so it won’t peel or tarnish. Tungsten carbide rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. It’s approximately ten times harder than 18-karat gold. Under normal daily wear, it won’t scratch from keys, tools, gym equipment, or anything softer than a sapphire.
